Journey to Haiti

This August 9-17 a group of volunteers from Journey IFC in Austin, Texas will be traveling to Haiti with the non-profit organization New Life for Haiti. A partnership between concerned American groups and local Haitian leaders, NLH has been working with for over five years to make life better for the people of the Grand ‘Anse River Valley of Haiti –
building schools and health clinics, rebuilding homes after the earthquake, lending seeds to local farmers, and starting a child sponsorship program. More details about New Life for Haiti can be found at http://www.newlifeforhaiti.org.

About Our Trip

The Austin team will be working to help finish one of the schools for the start of the school year, scout out potential sites for new schools to be built, investigate possibilities for new economic development ventures, and begin building relationships between the people of Haiti and folks here in Austin. In the wake of last January’s earthquake, Haiti needs this kind of stable infrastructure more than ever.
