Journey to Haiti

This site supports the ongoing commitment of volunteers from Journey IFC in Austin, Texas to make a diffence in the lives of the people of Haiti. This commitment is partnership with the non-profit organization New Life for Haiti. A partnership between concerned American groups and local Haitian leaders, NLH has been working with for over five years to make life better for the people of the Grand ‘Anse River Valley of Haiti –
building schools and health clinics, rebuilding homes after the earthquake, lending seeds to local farmers, and starting a child sponsorship program. More details about New Life for Haiti can be found at http://www.newlifeforhaiti.org.

Upcoming Trip

July 26th - Aug 2nd

The Austin team will be working to help paint Kay Bo Rivye, the missionary house in the small town of Marfranc. Without this paint, the house will deteriorate, deterring future teams from being able to come to Marfranc. The team will also scout out potential sites for new schools to be built, investigate possibilities for new economic development ventures, and continue building relationships between the people of Haiti and folks here in Austin. Thank you for joining with us in this amazing opportunity!

Thank you for helping to make the world a better place!

About Our Trip

In the wake of the January 2010 earthquake, Haiti needs this kind of stable infrastructure more than ever.
